Here’s what we’re most excited about, in reverse order. And believe me, what proved to be our #1 was a surprise to us. ## 3\. Warhammer Tone Pro OK, I’ll be honest. I wasn’t *that* excited when I first saw this. It seemed like Games Workshop’s take on concepts like [The Army Painter’s flexible triads](https://thearmypainter.com/en-gb/blogs/explore/warpaints-fanatic-flexible-triads?ref=adventurousdadanddaughters.com). That degree of self-levelling? It could make a lot of paint jobs much easier. As long as they’re not too expensive, these could be a good addition to our paint armoury. Games Workshop is making RPGs again! ![The new Necromunda Roleplay set from Games Workshop](https://www.adventurousdadanddaughters.com/content/images/2026/09/content-07-pzl0nfgrgm.jpg) As I’ve mentioned before, I am *old*. I bought my first RPG in around 1983\. And it looked like this: ![A copy of Runequest second edition from 1980.](https://www.adventurousdadanddaughters.com/content/images/2026/09/IMG_8487.jpeg) My brother bought the first edition *Warhammer*, which was as much a miniatures-based RPG as it was a wargame. I was a loyal player of *Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay* back when it was published by Games Workshop, or its short-lived subsidiary [Flame Publications](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warhammer%5FFantasy%5FRoleplay?ref=adventurousdadanddaughters.com#History). But then they got out of that business, Hogshead became the first licensee, and RPGs based on their settings became other people’s business, either directly, or indirectly [working for the Black Industries imprint](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black%5FIndustries?ref=adventurousdadanddaughters.com), a subsidiary of Black Library. Even at the most charitable read, it’s been 18 years since GW produced their own RPG. No longer. We now have [Necromunda Roleplay](https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/rfd3ntt7/the-big-autumn-preview-roleplay-in-the-underhive/?ref=adventurousdadanddaughters.com) to accompany Necromunda Skirmish! Now it’s my daughters’ turn to enjoy a GW RPG. Does this mean we might get roleplay content in *White Dwarf* again, for the first time since it stopped being an RPG mag back in the 80s? ## 1\. Kill Team: Armageddon We’re largely an Age of Sigmar household at the moment, although I’ve been flirting with Kill Team. Well, looks like the youngest will be joining me, as she was blown away by the Legion of the Damned in the [new Kill Team season](https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/ltbqrokb/the-big-autumn-preview-the-legion-of-the-damned-enter-the-killzone/?ref=adventurousdadanddaughters.com). Black, bones, flames? This fanned the fire of her growing metal heart. And then the Nobz were revealed. And *she doesn’t know which she loves more*. I feel this might be a purchase in our future.
